Recruiting Offers

How To Have the Best Recruiting Offer

Effective marketing framework in order of priority is TARGET, OFFER, COPY.

Assuming you have the TARGET right, the quality and aggressiveness of the OFFER will determine the effectiveness of the campaign.  In other words, if you are not getting the desired response, it is usually because your OFFER isn’t strong enough.

Most job ads are SUPER WEAK on OFFERS.  Most job ads are full of “What we are looking for in an ideal candidate…” and very short on “Here is what we can offer to an ideal candidate…”

Here are a handful of recommendations that I often make when helping business owners increase the quality and quantity of their job applicants:

Talk About The Money

  • The number one thing that a candidate wants to know is “How much are they offering to pay?”   The number one thing missing in many job ads is The Money!

Implement Advertising When Hiring

  • If you want to attract & hire a Rockstar, you have to advertise Rockstar pay. Most business owners are scared to advertise Rockstar pay due to the fear of pushback from their existing mediocre employees. Make sure your advertised salary includes what they will make on the top end if they prove themselves to be a Rockstar. Also, let your team members, that are short of Rockstar status, know what improvements they need to make to earn Rockstar money.

How To Create A Great Offer To A Candidate

  • What else do Rock Stars need to be offered to respond to you? Insurance? Work from home? Flexible schedule? Culture? Fun? Flexibility? This is an outstanding place to test & measure.  I’ve been amazed at the difference in quantity & quality of candidates once the offers have been improved.

Bottom line, if you aren’t getting responses from your job ads, it is because you aren’t offering enough. Up the ante and you will see a difference.
